How long does it take to make one knife?
Since knives are produced in batches of several dozen, it is difficult to calculate the exact time required for a single knife. However, the production process typically takes around 3 to 4 months.
That said, the entire process from product development to final release takes a minimum of one year, even in the smoothest cases. In some instances, it can take two to three years before a product reaches the market. This is because we do not simply evaluate completed products—we visit factories in person to review and refine the manufacturing process itself.
Furthermore, we typically go through three to five rounds of prototyping, incorporating feedback from Japanese craftsmen and professional chefs at each stage to enhance the product’s quality. Only after we have achieved the ideal design and functionality do we proceed with full-scale production and bring the product to our store shelves.
