Where are your knives made?
All items are finished by hand at our workshop in Tokyo.
Knife manufacturing generally follows a division of labor system, and very few workshops handle the entire production process in one location. Blacksmithing, sharpening, heat treatment, laser cutting, pressing, and handle-making are often done by specialized artisans in different regions, making it difficult to define a single place of origin. For this reason, we encourage customers to focus not on the "place of origin" but on which brand is selling the knife.
To create truly one-of-a-kind products, we collaborate with skilled craftsmen and factories worldwide, conducting repeated testing and prototyping to determine the best production methods. For example, we have partnered with an overseas facility that operates state-of-the-art German heat treatment machines. These machines are capable of processing precision components such as airplane propellers and play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of our knives.
It is undoubtedly a product that can only be created through the unified oversight of our Japanese founder, Mr. Kakinuma, and the final finishing done by his own hands.
Rather than being bound by origin, we are committed to pursuing the best methods for each product. Our priority is always "quality" and "originality", and we continually strive to refine our craftsmanship.
